Job Summary
This is a temporary full time, M-F 8-4:30am position with the Addiction Consult Team (ACT). The approximate time frame for this position is January 1, 2025-May 1, 2025. The social worker will be part of an interdisciplinary team which sees patients across the Michigan Medicine emergency departments and inpatient medical floors. The team provides assessment, development of treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based treatments (including medications for opioid use disorder), and ensure a robust warm handoff to ongoing outpatient care/follow-up, either at Michigan Medicine or within our community. The team has a long-term goal of empowering and upskilling our care teams across Michigan Medicine to care for patients with substance use disorders just as they would care for patients with any other chronic disease.

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
