We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, team member to supervise the Receiving/Mail Distribution Section. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to APL's success by ensure incoming packages are received and recorded in accordance with sound business practices, packages are delivered in a timely manner, incoming and outgoing mail is sorted and distributed and manage the post office that provides USPS services to APL's staff. As a Receiving Section Supervisor...
- You will support staff development and coach staff as necessary, including receiving partner feedback throughout the year. Inspire and empower staff to create a culture that embraces technical excellence, problem solving, diversity of thought, inclusion, and continual improvement
- You will communicate often with staff regarding organizational vision and purpose and the development of goals toward desired outcomes, and provide continual feedback and coaching support
- You will draft personnel requisitions, interview candidates and collaborate on the hiring decisions, fostering diversity and innovation, and ensuring administrative knowledge is exchanged within and beyond the function. In addition, you will provide performance coaching and input for the salary review process
- You will work collaboratively across the Department and Lab to foster partnering to maximize the impact to the organization and assist in a creating a climate conducive to creativity, collaboration, diversity of ideas and respect for others
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent relevant experience in the receiving/logistics field
- Seven or more years ' experience in an enterprise receiving environment leading and managing staff
- Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and lead change all the time working in a practical manner to ensure that change is delivered in a sustainable way
- Demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, mentor and develop staff
- Have the ability to cultivate strong relationships across organizational boundaries, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills within a team environment
- Demonstrate the ability to set direction and implement plans to achieve goals and build capabilities including the pursuit of new initiatives
- Possess unquestionable integrity with exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff. with a track record of excellent judgment and discretion
- Possess a valid driver's license. If selected you will be subject to a driving record evaluation
- Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

$54,700 Annually
Maximum Rate
$142,000 Annually
