Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Literacy Services San Diego, CA

"The growth of data is outpacing an organization's ability to get value from it", said a prominent research firm. The Data Governance & Literacy team in Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is set up to drive responsible and effective usage of data, thereby enabling a data-driven culture to harness the most value from our data. We are looking for a highly driven individual for a global customer facing role providing analytical and training support. This analyst will directly engage with our customers, providing ad-hoc data support and educating colleagues on the use of data to advance data literacy level of the organization.

What you'll be doing

You are someone with hands-on experience with data (e.g. relational, clickstream) and visualization tools. This expertise gives you insight into the challenges faced by individuals who are new to a company's data landscape. You are also passionate about explaining how to use data and tools to generate insights, from crafting dashboards to hosting customized training workshops. Combining these two strengths, you are an effective enabler to help scale data literacy across the organization.

Business Intelligence Reporting
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the data landscape and data domains for efficient data utilization
  • Support partners' data usage through ad-hoc data analysis with a wide range of reporting tools including Snowflake SQL, MicroStrategy, DOMO, and Adobe CJA
Customer Enablement & Training
  • Establish a strong bond with the data community, and understand how they use data and reporting tools, challenges, and opportunities
  • Facilitate content curation for the data catalog to amplify knowledge about existing data assets and tools
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop training framework, plans and materials
  • Stay up-to-date on standard methodologies for data literacy strategies by attending conferences and webinars hosted by industry authorities.
What we are looking for
  • 3 years' professional experience working in business intelligence related role
  • Professional experience with visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, DOMO, Tableau, Adobe Analytics/CJA, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Professional experience working with SQL in sophisticated data warehousing instance
  • Experience developing training curriculum, hosting and leading training sessions on data and visualization tools
  • Experience working in data literacy, data governance and culture programs
  • Experience working in a sophisticated environment; multiple sites, multiple global regions, multiple partners (internal and external)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to all levels
  • Ability to travel, including some international travel, for key collaborator meetings
  • Comfortable working with remote teams during US hours

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$121,300$181,900 USD
