Department Summary

The Office of Student Conflict Resolution promotes a safe and scholarly community in which students navigate conflict in a peaceful, socially just, and self-reflexive manner. OSCR offers a spectrum of conflict resolution pathways that are educationally focused, student-driven, community-owned, and restorative in nature, which are adaptable to meet the needs of individuals experiencing conflict.

Job Summary

NOTE: This is a 5-year limited term appointment with the potential to be re-evaluated for an extension.

Promotes student learning and development through outreach, program management, conflict resolution, and supervision. Responsibilities include education and outreach, case management, interdepartmental coordination, Statement review process, training, and administrative supervision of student facilitation staff and/or volunteers.  Utilizes specialized knowledge of higher education administration, higher education law, educational and community outreach, student development, conflict resolution, and related content areas to deliver on unit mission.

This position is a key part of OSCR's work to Build Trust, Promote Justice, and Teach Peace on campus.  A successful candidate will embody the philosophies and principles of restorative justice and conflict transformation.  A successful candidate will also have expertise in working with diverse populations and strong cultural competence.

As a fundamental part of the OSCR team, this position is responsible for competent facilitation of all of OSCR's resolution pathways, with particular emphasis on the expert facilitation of formal conflict resolution pathways and understanding of the policies and procedures within the Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
