Motor Vehicle Operator

Job Description

Responsibilities*

Operate single unit motor vehicles, such as vans, pick-up trucks, station wagons, and dump trucks.
Arrange and secure stock, utilizing restraining devices such as ropes and binder chains, and protective pads.
Inspect items for damage and completeness.
Maintain motor vehicle fluid levels such as checking gas, oil, water, and battery and refilling as necessary.
Load, unload, pick-up and deliver stock, materials, and equipment by hand or using material handling equipment to designated locations.
Maximize and arrange loads to minimize delivery distance and time.
Check mechanical and safety items such as lights, mirrors, tires, brakes and wipers before operation.
Clean assigned area of work and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
 

Required Qualifications*

High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
Must possess valid Michigan Chauffeur Driver License and posses good driving record.
Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT Medical Certification Exam. 
Must obtain Hi-lo certification within 90 days.
Ability to perform variety of physical activities in extreme weather conditions, including lifting minimum of 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, carrying, climbing stairs, etc.
Must be capable of operating a pallet jack.
Sort/deliver mail and packages while keeping accurate records of deliveries.
Answer inquiries related to packages received with attention to detail.
Basic computing skills.
Reliable and timely attendance.
Provide exceptional communication and customer service.
Other duties as assigned.
 

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
