Part-Time Specialist, Fine Arts Box Office

Job Description Summary

The Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology department at Santa Fe College is dedicated to providing innovative instruction in Visual Art, Dance, Music, and Theatre, with opportunities for students to participate in both Gallery Exhibits, as well as live Performing Arts productions in SF's 600 seat, state-of-the-art Fine Arts Hall.

The part-time Box Office Specialist provides general assistance to the Theatre Manager and staff by processing ticket purchases and transactions, preparing and running events, and more.

 

Job Description

This position will be advertised until filled.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Serves as the Lead Usher in the Fine Arts Hall.

  • Greets and assists patrons of the Fine Arts Hall.

  • Processes ticket purchases and transactions.

  • Assists the Fine Arts Manager with managing events.

  • Preps and runs event areas with proper audio and technical equipment.

  • Answers phone inquiries concerning Box Office and performance information.

  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Manager, Fine Arts Hall

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Prior work experience or completed education. Must be able to lift equipment up to 25 pounds, prep event areas in a short turnaround time, and set-up and run PowerPoint and other audio-visual presentations.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred: Prior experience working in the theatre environment.

  • Organization & Time Management – able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks related to the job to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.

  • Problem Solving – proven skills in identifying issues, determining their cause, developing creative solutions, and following through with implementing resolutions.

  • Detail Oriented - Proven accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Multi-task - Ability to expeditiously organize, coordinate, manage, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously to swiftly assess a situation, determine a logical course of action, and apply the appropriate response.
