Montgomery College, Central Services Campus, has an immediate need for a FT Associate Senior Vice President for Administrative and Fiscal Services The work schedule is 5 days/40 hours a week. This is a Non-Bargaining, Exempt, grade 39 position. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, diversity, and inclusiveness. This position is currently eligible for telework one day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.

The Associate Senior Vice President for Administrative and Fiscal Services (ASVP/AFS), reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Administrative and Fiscal Services (SVP/AFS), plays a critical role in supporting the office as a key advisor, collaborator, and facilitator, working closely with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to advance the transformational aspirations, mission, vision, and goals of Montgomery College. This leader is responsible for ensuring a consistent and strategic approach to the execution of administrative and fiscal services across the College, promoting transparency, efficiency, and delivering value.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development and implementation of inter-divisional and cross-functional strategic and operational plans to optimize the office’s efficiency and effectiveness in achieving the College’s mission and aspirations. 
  • Defines objectives, frameworks, and metrics for the strategic planning process and establishes ownership and timelines for key planning steps.
  • Manages the review of AFS strategies that align with Montgomery College’s strategic plan and Transformational Aspirations.
  • Conducts meetings with senior AFS leaders and key stakeholders across Montgomery College to verify and validate AFS’s understanding of business goals and effectively communicate the AFS strategy. 
  • Establishes and manages effective relationships between AFS and other Montgomery College leaders.
  • Manages the AFS strategy and planning and communications to ensure a high standard of performance. Reviews processes to ensure compliance with Montgomery College’s strategy and operations. 
  • Leads and oversees key AFS projects, fostering effective coordination among divisions for successful execution by anticipating next steps as a representative of the SVPAFS. 
  • Identifies and prioritizes critical initiatives, allocates resources, and tracks progress to meet established goals and deadlines. 
  • Leads and coordinates AFS Leadership and Management Teams to reach economies of scale by fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation, promoting cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving. 
  • Oversees the development of appropriate governance frameworks and mechanisms for effective risk management.
  • Collaborates with the SVPAFS and division leaders to develop and improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that elevate the overall efficiency of the division and College to ensure effective, efficient, excellent customer service, team productivity, and meeting operational excellence objectives.
  • Facilitates process discovery, standardization, documentation, review, and improvement of operations and service standards.
  • Ensure all systems operate smoothly and align with College and divisional quality standards.
  • Maximize the efficiency of operations and administrative processes.
  • Spearheads the AFS unified communication strategy across internal and external channels, streamlining processes and content creation to ensure effectiveness in communication.
  • Supports the SVPAFS in facilitating the growth and effectiveness of the AFS leadership team, individually and collectively, through coordinating development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversees the coordination, planning, and implementation of AFS leadership development initiatives, skills analysis, and growth opportunities.
  • Develops team metrics and oversees regular reviews with the AFS leadership team.
  • Facilitates change and helps coach others to empower them to plan for and navigate internal division and Montgomery College change initiatives. 
  • Assists in developing a professional learning community through the AFS Leadership Team meetings, retreats, and other professional growth activities.
  • Represents the SVPAFS as needed in meetings, committees, and events, conveying division priorities, perspectives, and decisions effectively.
  • Communicates current institutional needs and future directions effectively to fellow Associate Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and senior leadership, while consolidating and synthesizing their responses to ensure coherent and clear communication.
  • Serves as a liaison across divisions, engaging other college departments as appropriate, to engage support and facilitate collaboration on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven years of related experience in one of the functional areas within AFS (i.e., facilities management, finance/business services, information technology, human resources, public safety/emergency management).
  • Three years of progressively responsible managerial experience at the department level, or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Experience in managing/leading large, complex projects and programs.
  • Experience interpreting financial data and allocating budgets.
  • Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree preferred.

Salary range: $126,683 –- $221,668 Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($126,683 - $174,176), based on experience and internal equity.
