Job Summary

The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning seeks a dynamic and experienced director for the ArcStart Program, a pre-college, residential architecture program designed to introduce high school students to the fundamentals of architectural design, the built environment, and the vibrant academic community of the University of Michigan. This role is an opportunity to lead a transformative educational experience that prepares young students to engage with architecture and design in a rigorous and creative environment. You will oversee all aspects of the ArcStart program, ensuring a stimulating and supportive atmosphere for students as they explore architectural history, theory, and design. You will be responsible for curriculum development, program administration, and ensuring a seamless integration of academic, social, and professional opportunities for participants. This includes coordinating with teaching faculty, managing student experiences, and developing partnerships with architecture firms, institutions, and design professionals, as appropriate. You will report to and work in close collaboration with the associate dean for academic initiatives (our organizational chart).

This hybrid job is situated in Ann Arbor and on-campus work is expected during the entire ArcStart program with hybrid work the rest of the year. This is a part-time, term-limited position that is eligible for annual renewal.

Additional Information

The salary for this position is $20,000. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor transparency throughout the recruiting process.
