You must have a faculty recommendation form submitted from a UM-Flint faculty member for each course you wish to tutor. 
A cover letter must be included with your resume. Cover letter and resume must be uploaded as one document. Please be sure to identify which subjects you wish to tutor.

Job Summary

Tutorial Services has limited peer tutor positions for qualified students in specific subjects and courses. 
We also have limited positions available for tutors to assist students in learning strategies and computer software programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, Python, SPSS, Excel, and Access.
Tutors work in individual and/or lab situations. Overall schedule varies week to week. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
Tutors will need to complete a general tutor training program before they begin working and will be expected to complete four hours of continuing tutorial training over the course of the academic year.
Preference will be given to applicants who can tutor a number of courses within one or more disciplines for which they have a faculty recommendation.

Modes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.

Mobile/Remote
The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite.  On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
